BETHANY COLLEGE ANNOUNCES HOMECOMING COURT

BETHANY, W.Va. — Bethany College has announced the 2007 Homecoming Court. The crowning of the king and queen will take place on Saturday, October 13, during halftime of the football game against Waynesburg University.

Nominated for King are Kevin Clancy, Coulter Edward Lewis, Paul McCormick, Stephen Sholtas, Paul Strittmater, and Jack Wheeler. The nominations for homecoming queen include Krista Holyak, Angela Grace Hoobler, Andrea Koleck, Vikki Salvatoriello, Chantal Stettinius, and Misty Tweedlie.

Holyak is representing Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. She is the daughter of Robert Holyak of Adena, Ohio. Holyak is a Communication major with an Advertising emphasis and a member of PRSSA. She is currently the Communication Department Senior Fellow and on the women’s varsity tennis team. She is also currently president of the Student Activities Council as well as the 2007 Greek Woman of the Year.

The daughter of Pam Hoobler of Toronto, Ohio and John Hoobler of Calcutta, Ohio, Hoobler is a Social Work Major and is the current Recruitment Chair of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She is also a special assistant in the Student Activities Council.

An English major, Kolleck, is representing Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. She is the daughter of Mark and Donna Koleck of Youngstown, Ohio. A member of Amnesty International, writer’s club, serves as a writing tutor and participates in Tuesday night trivia.

Salvatoriello is representing Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She is the daughter of Karen Salvatoriello of Arnold, Md. Salvatoriello is a Communication major with an Advertsing emphasis and is an officer in the Student Activities Council.

Stettinius, is the daughter of Avis and William Stettinius of Parkton, Md. She is representing Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. Stettinius is an Elementary Special Education major and a member of the Bethany Cross Country, Track and Field and Equestrian Teams.

A Psychology major with a Pre-Physical Therapy emphasis, Tweedlie is the daughter of Traci Barker and Fred Tweedlie of Glen Dale, W.Va.She is the current President of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, Theta Chapter, as well as a member of the Student Activities Council.

Clancy is representing Sigma Nu Fraternity. He is the son of Catherine Clancy of Weymouth, Mass. Clancy is a Visual Arts major and is the current President of Sigma Nu Fraternity, Epsilon Chapter. He is also a member of IFC and the Student Senate.

The son of Peter and Shelley Lewis of Niagara Falls, Canada, Lewis is a Psychology and Elementary Education major and a member of the Men’s Varsity Soccer team. He is representing Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity

Representing the Independent Student Body, McCormick, a Communication major, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin McCormick of Wheeling, W.Va. He is involved with WVBC, The Tower, and served as editor of the 2006 Bethanian. He participates yearly in IM Football, IM Basketball and IM Softball and is an avid supporter of Bison athletics.

Sholtas is the son of Michele and Steve Sholtas of Perryopolis, Pa. A Biology major, Sholtas is the current President of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity, Phi Chapter. He is also a member of Tri Beta Biological Honor Society, Bethany College Choir, Music Club and Theatre.

Representing Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity, Strittmater is the son of Paul and Elayne Strittmater of Washington, Pa. He is a Spanish major and a member of the Spanish Club as well as an avid IM participator.

Wheeler is the son of Jeffery and Barbara Wheeler of Hilliard, Ohio. Wheeler is a Psychology and Social Work major. He is the current Vice President of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity, Phi Chapter. He is also a member of the Psych Club, Social Awareness Club, Phi Alpha and Psi Chi Honor Societies as well as the 2007 Psychology Senior Fellow.

Bethany College students voted during lunch and dinner to choose the 2007 Homecoming Court, and will vote again this week to select the king and queen out of the 12 nominees.
