BETHANY COLLEGE WELCOMES NEW PRESIDENT
BETHANY, W.Va. - Dr. Scott D. Miller took office as the 19th president of Bethany College on January 1. Dr. Miller and his wife Annie moved to their new home at Pendleton Heights on December 28 after serving 10 years as President of Wesley College in Dover, De. He also served nearly seven years as President of Lincoln Memorial University (Tenn.).
A native of western Pennsylvania, Dr. Miller is a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College and worked for several newspapers in central West Virginia before entering higher education as Director of University Relations and Alumni Affairs at the University of Rio Grande (Ohio). He served as Vice President for Development and Executive Vice President of Lincoln Memorial University before becoming president there in 1991.
At Wesley, he is credited with tripling enrollment, doubling the endowment, and completing a $67 million capital campaign Wesley College: From Here to 2010. He was recently recognized by Wesley with the naming of the Scott D. Miller Stadium, the Dr. Scott D. Miller Leadership Scholarships, and the designaton of President-Emeritus.
