BETHANY, W.Va.--Michele (Gockstetter) Rejonis has been named Director of Alumni and Parent Relations at Bethany College, according to Sven de Jong, Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
The appointment of Rejonis concludes a six month national search. She will serve as a member of the staff of the Center for Institutional Advancement located in the Erickson Alumni Center.
"Michele brings a wealth of experience to this position," de Jong said. "She is ideally suited to lead a program that serves two of our most important constituencies--alumni and parents. We're pleased to welcome her back to her alma mater."
A 1994 graduate of Bethany with a bachelor of arts degree in Communication, Rejonis has extensive experience in conference and event planning, marketing and public relations. She is also a former news reporter.
Dr. Scott D. Miller, President of the College, echoed de Jong in welcoming Rejonis back to Bethany. "Ms. Rejonis is the perfect fit for this important capacity. Her personal interests stemming from her undergraduate days here and her extensive professional experience will be important to this program."
For nearly eight years, she has been employed at Wheeling Jesuit University, initially as a Manager of Public Outreach and more recently as a Public Affairs Specialist/Editor at the National Technology Transfer Center. She has also worked as Bureau Chief for The Times Leader (St. Clairsville, Ohio), Reporter for the Wheeling News-Register and Times Leader (Martins Ferry, Ohio) and as Marketing Director/Event Planner for Undo's/McLure House Hotel.
West Virginia's oldest private college, Bethany has graduated over 22,000 alumni since its founding in 1840. Bethany is a national liberal arts college located on a picturesque 1,300 acre campus.
