BETHANY, W.Va. — Susan Doty has been promoted to the position of Registrar at Bethany College. She had served as Assistant Registrar for the College since 2000. Her promotion was announced by Dr. Scott D. Miller, President of the College.
Doty holds a Regents Bachelor of Arts degree from West Liberty State College. She worked in Bethany’s Office of Admission during the early 1970s before leaving the work force to raise her family. She returned to Bethany in 1992 and worked in the Education and Social Work departments until being named Assistant Registrar.
“Susan’s years of service to Bethany and her extensive experience in the Registrar’s office are valuable assets during this exciting time on our campus,” Dr. Miller said. “We are fortunate to have the benefit of her talents and dedication.”
Among Doty’s duties as Registrar are working with each department to develop the schedule of classes for each term; maintaining records for the College’s reporting to all certifying agencies; organizing, monitoring and checking class registration for all students; maintaining and distributing all enrollment statistics; maintaining and monitoring academic progress and graduation requirements for all students; communicating with all colleges participating in the 2+2 Program to ensure all classes meet the requirements for each school; advising students transferring to Bethany from other institutions; and compiling and verifying grades for all honoraries, Dean’s Lists and President’s Lists.
Doty and her husband, Thomas, reside in Wellsburg. They are the parents of three daughters: Denise ’96, Danelle ’97 and RaeLinn.
