Bethany President Attends CIC/New York Times Partnership Meeting

BETHANY, W.Va. - Bethany College President Scott D. Miller was part of a group of private college presidents from throughout the United States that met with officials from The New York Times on Monday in New York City to discuss academic collaboration between the Washington, D.C.-based Council of Independent Colleges and the New York Times. 

Dr. Richard Ekman, President of CIC, Les Garner, President of Cornell College, and Mark Bechara, Senior Education Manager, The New York Times Knowledge  Network, Jacques Steinberg, NYT Higher Education Reporter/Blogger, and Kate Zernike, NYT Higher Education Reporter, led the meeting at the New York Times offices on Eighth Avenue.

The group discussed partnership projects including:  partnering with The New York Times Knowledge Network, workshops for Student Newspaper Editors, and other topics of mutual interest. 

A long-time member and former Board member of CIC, Dr. Miller currently chairs the organization’s New Presidents Program.
