The Wheeling Symphony Orchestra’s (WSO) String Quintet will perform a free concert for the public at Bethany on February 9 in the College’s Academic Parlour in historic Old Main. The event will begin at 7 p.m. and will include a question-and-answer session with the WSO musicians.
The quintet will perform works related to the WSO’s February 18 Masterworks III Concert. Bethany selections will include “Amazing Grace” and Vivaldi’s “Winter.”
The February 18 concert will expand upon the themes introduced at Bethany with Beethoven’s “Pastorale” Symphony and violinist Mark O’Connor’s “Seasons of an American Life” — as well as other musical arrangements influenced by nature and folk music.
The Bethany performance will feature other light classical, opera and pops works as well. Students can order free tickets for the WSO February 18 concert by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org. Faculty, staff and alumni can pre-order tickets at the same address for a 50 percent discount.
