June 21 – GREENVILLE, Pa. – A total of 29 Bethany College student-athletes have been named to the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll for the 2015-16 spring semester, announced the PAC on Tuesday afternoon.
In total, 463 student-athletes were named to the PAC Spring Academic Honor Roll, which recognizes athletes on winter and spring varsity sports teams who earned a grade-point average of 3.6 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the semester of their competition.
The Green & White saw a total of 61 student-athletes (32 fall, 29 spring) earn the distinction during the 2015-16 academic year, helping the conference reach a new all-time high of 939. The total number was three more than the previous high of 936 set in 2014-15.
The Bison baseball team spearheaded the efforts for the Green & White, placing nine of its members on the PAC Academic Honor Roll. The track & field programs were second for the Bison, seeing eight of its athletes garner honor roll distinction. The swimming & diving teams added five members, while the softball program and the women’s basketball team saw three and two members, respectively, garner honors. Men’s tennis and men’s golf each also added one athlete, each.
Of the 29 athletes that made the academic honor roll, 15 boasted a GPA of 3.8 or higher. Additionally, eight of the 15 student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 grade-point average for the semester.
