Jan. 27 – GREENVILLE, Pa. – A total of 30 Bethany College student athletes were recently named to the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll for the fall 2014 semester.
In all, 456 athletes from all ten full-time conference schools, as well as two affiliate institutions (Carnegie Mellon and Case Western Reserve), were named to the list, which recognizes those on fall varsity athletic teams who earn a grade point average of 3.6 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the semester of their competition.
The 30 representatives for the Bison were made up of athletes from six different varsity sports, and included three separate players who were also named All-PAC for their athletic achievements. Those three athletes that earned the distinction of being on both lists were Julia Mouch (Toledo, Ohio/Sylvania Southview)(Second-Team All PAC) and Lynsie Mandt (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) (Honorable Mention All PAC) from the volleyball team, and junior Beau Bertus (Parkersburg, W. Va./Parkersburg South) (Second-Team All PAC) from the football program.
Overall, the Bison men’s soccer and volleyball programs led the way with each program placing eight athletes on the distinctive list. Football and women’s soccer each had four athletes earn Academic All-PAC, while women’s tennis and women’s cross country each finished with three student-athletes on the list.
