March 24 - BETHANY, W. Va. - The Bethany College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee has announced that freshman Colton Reeves (Poquoson, Va./Poquoson) has been named the SAAC Athlete of the Week.
Reeves led the Bison lacrosse team in two contests last week. He finished the week with four points, which included securing his second-career hat trick in an Ohio River Lacrosse Conference matchup with Transylvania University on Saturday. Reeves finished the week with three goals, one assist and four points while posting a .625 shot on goal percentage.
Reeves has currently posted nine points on the season, averaging 1.0 points per game. He has tallied seven goals and two assists, including two-career hat tricks. Along with the three-goal performance last week, he also totaled one in his first-career contest in a 21-11 victory over Houghton.
Other nominees for SAAC Athlete of the Week included sophomore pitcher Cody Gross (West Mifflin, Pa./West Mifflin), senior outfielder Derek Miller (Rayland, Ohio/Linsly) and freshman men's tennis player Mason Schoonover (Elkins, W. Va./Elkins). Due to the fact that no women's sport competed in the previous week, no women's athlete of the week was named.
