Oct. 14 – BETHANY, W. Va. – The Bethany College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee has announced that junior defensive lineman Nadim Raddar (Laurel, Md./Old Mill) and sophomore volleyball standout, Dylana McKenzie (Hopewell, Ohio /West Muskingum) have been named the Bison SAAC Athletes of the Week.
Raddar was an ever-present force in the Carnegie Mellon backfield in Bethany's 19-7 win over the Tartans. He posted three sacks and three total tackles for loss which added to his totals to give him a Nation-leading 16 tackles for loss and 11.5 sacks on the year. He helped the Bison hold the Tartans to just 198 total yards in the game, and kept CMU to seven points, a season-best for the Defense. With Raddar at the helm, the Bison held CMU to 1.5 yards per rush and just 3.4 yards per play in the game. On the year, Raddar leads the Presidents’ Athletic Conference in sacks (11.5) and tackles for loss (16).
McKenzie posted 59 kills in just four matches as the Bison competed at the Elmhurst College Invitational over the weekend. McKenzie was a mark of consistency for the Green & White as she totaled three consecutive games of 15 kills each. Her top match over the course of the invite came against #9 Elmhurst where she finished the contests with 15 kills and just three errors, hitting .353 in the process. On the season, McKenzie ranks third in the league in total kills with 251.
Other men that were considered included junior wide receiver Eric Blinn (Beaver, Pa./Western Beaver) and soccer sophomore captain, Jack Waters (Epsom, United Kingdom/Glyn School). The women’s side included senior tennis athlete, Allison Snyder (Newcomerstown, Ohio/Newcomerstown), junior field hockey stand out, Courtney Snyder (Bristol, Pa./Bristol) and freshman forward, Michaela Hinerman (Weirton, W.Va./Brooke).
