Alexander (Alex) Kon
Cross Country, Track & Field
Class of 1982

Alex Kon lettered in cross country and track as an undergraduate at Bethany and qualified for two NCAA Cross Country Championships, once as an individual in 1979 and again with Bethany's 1980 team which went on to capture the South/Southeast Region Cross Country Championship.

The 1980 Men's Cross Country team was the first Bethany College athletic team to win a regional championship. For his efforts, Kon was selected to the All-PAC Cross Country First-Team in 1980 and was elected team captain and team MVP in 1981.

A five-time All-PAC runner in track and field, Kon is a one-time holder of three Bethany records, including the mile, 800-meter, and 1600-meter relay.

Earning a Bachelor of Science in Political Science while at Bethany, Kon works for Reebok International Ltd. and was honored as Reebok Mideast Salesman of the year in 1992, an award which included a trip to the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympics.

Kon is a graduate of Ambridge (Pa.) High School.
