Denny Williams
Class of 1981

Denny Williams, a former Brooke High School football, basketball, and track standout who captured OVAC and state honors, lettered four years in football at Bethany.

The all-time Bethany receiver at the time of his graduation (currently fourth), Williams was the NCAA Division III leader in receiving and set Conference and Bethany records for receptions and receiving yards during the 1980 season, catching 70 passes for 1,036 yards. His 1,036 receiving yards still ranks second in Bethany single-season record-books, while his 70 receptions still ranks fifth.

Named a First-Team NCAA Division III All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America, Williams was twice named to All-District teams and twice named to All-PAC honors.

Immediately following his graduation from Bethany, the Political Science major had a free-agent tryout with the Green Bay Packers and also became a graduate assistant and assistant football coach for the Bison.

Williams currently resides in Worthington, Ohio.
