Frederick J. Gongola
Class of 1981

Gongola experienced continued success on the basketball court when he arrived at Bethany, earning All-PAC honors during his junior and senior year and becoming a 1,000 point scorer by the end of his career. Gongola also excelled from the charity stripe, ranking sixth in Bethany history in free-throw percentage, shooting 82.2% for his career.
Gongola also made his mark on the baseball diamond, as he was named an All-PAC performer during his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons.
Away from athletics, Gongola was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity.
After graduating from Bethany in 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts in sports communications, Gongola has worked for Frito Lay for over 25 years. He currently lives in Valrico, Florida, with his wife, Margaret. They have two grown daughters, Jessilyn and Erika.
