James Veres
Class of 1970

While a member of the Bethany swim team, James Veres set records locally and nationally, including at the College's Knight Natatorium, in the Presidents' Athletic Conference, and at nationals in 1967. In addition, Veres was named All-PAC 12 times (three times each year), helping the Bison become PAC Champions all four years that he attended Bethany (1967-70). Veres swam freestyle, butterfly, individual medley, and relay events for Bethany.

Veres also earned All-American honors for three years and, in addition to setting a national record in the 200-yard individual medley, was a member of Bethany's four-man team that won the national championship in the 400-yard free relay.

Upon graduation, Veres went on to become a production executive at Universal Studios in California.
