Dr. Lloyd “Bo” Briscoe

Class of 1962
A member of the Class of 1962, Dr. Lloyd Briscoe was a tri-athlete on the basketball, football, and track and field teams at Bethany. A four-year member and co-captain of the track and field team, he helped lead the Bison to West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) and Presidents' Athletic Conference championships. Briscoe also established a school record in the 440 as a senior with a time of 50.7.
After graduating from Bethany with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Briscoe went on to receive a Master of Education degree from the University of Pittsburgh, a Curriculum and Supervision Certificate from Banks Street College, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
Briscoe has served for over 30 years on the Pittsbugh Board of Education, most recently as the Principal of Greenway Middle School in Pittsburgh. He and his wife, Joyce Ann, are the parents of three children, Lloyd Jr., Cory Lynn, and Christopher Franklin. They reside in Pittsburgh.
