Class of 2000
Matt King was a four-year member of the Bethany baseball program. King was a four-time All-PAC selection, which included First-Team laurels in 1997, 1999 and 2000. In ’97, King earned First-Team honors as a freshman playing second base. The other three seasons (including a Second-Team nod in 1998) King showed off his skills in the outfield. In both 1999 and 2000, King helped lead the Bison to back-to-back PAC Championships, as well as an ECAC South bid in 2000.
As a senior, King set Bethany single-season marks in at bats (172) and runs scored (52). An “iron man” for the Green & White, King still holds the Bison career record in games played, having appeared in 158 contests. He also still currently holds the school career mark in runs scored (147), while ranking second on the all-time list in both hits (192) and total bases (271).
