Melanie Stumm West
Class of 1993

Melanie Stumm West, ’93, was a four-year letterwinner in softball. She earned PAC MVP twice (1992, 1993) and First Team All-PAC three times as she broke Bethany batting average and RBI records and led BC to PAC titles in 1991 and 1992. West played field hockey for a season and earned Goalie of the Year in 1989. The versatile student-athlete was also a member of the volleyball and women’s basketball teams for a season.

Away from the fields, West was a member of Kappa Delta and served as a student athletic trainer. She served as a volunteer fireman and EMT and was a lieutenant for the Bethany Fire Department. A 1993 graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, West has been working with National Lighting since 1993. She and her husband, T. Richard West Jr., reside in Zelienople, Pa.
