June 3 - BETHANY, W.Va. – After finishing his final season with the school’s single-season and career home records, Bethany senior Chris Leasure (Stafford, Ohio/Monroe Central) was voted Second Team ECAC All-South Region.

Leasure earned his spot on the Second Team as the designated hitter, which comes after he belted 10 home runs to establish a new single-season standard at the College. In addition to earning PAC and ECAC Hitter of the Week once during the year, which came after he mashed four long balls in a doubleheader split against eventual PAC champion Thomas More, Leasure batted .338, collected 38 RBIs, hit nine doubles and finished with a slugging percentage of .654.

His efforts helped charge a huge BC turnaround, as they went from three wins in 2009 to a 21-18 mark this spring, the team’s fourth appearance in the ECAC Tournament and only the second postseason triumph in the program’s history when they reached the ECAC semifinals.

Boosted by his huge senior season, Leasure finished his tenure in Green and White as one of the program’s top sluggers of all-time. He obliterated the previous career home run mark of 18 by finishing with 26 bombs and finished second in career RBIs with 118. Leasure also etched his name in the top 10 with 270 total bases (third) and 156 hits (seventh).

A physical education major, Chris is the son of Merle and Sandy Leasure of Stafford, Ohio.
