Bethany Men Predicted to Place Eighth in Preseason Poll
Aug. 25 - GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Bethany College men’s cross country team were given an eighth-place ranking when the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Preseason Poll was released by the conference office.
The Bison, who finished eighth at last year’s PAC Championships, scored 24 points to finish in front of Thomas More (11). Grove City nabbed six first place votes and 77 points to barely beat out two-time defending PAC champion Saint Vincent, who garnered three first votes and 75 points. Geneva placed a distant third with 58 and Washington & Jefferson picked up 50 points.
Rounding out the rest of the field was Thiel (46), Westminster (35), Waynesburg (29), Bethany and Thomas More.
The Bison will begin the 2012 season on the trails at the Seton Hill Invitational. Bethany will also host a pair of meets this year, including the Bethany Bison Invitational Sept. 29th and the 2012 PAC Championships will be held on campus for the first time since 2004. The conference meet will be Saturday, Oct. 27th.
