Nov. 14 - BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Although they did not have enough runners to score as a full team, the Bethany women’s cross country team recorded many of their season-best times Saturday at the NCAA Mideast Regionals hosted by Muhlenberg College.
Leading the way for the Bison was senior Maggie McCort (Fort Ashby, W.Va./Frankfort), who finished in 120th place out of 311 runners with a time of 24:42.7. The time was nearly 36 seconds better than what she finished in at PAC Championships when she was 10th overall and earned Second Team All-PAC.
Freshman Erin Reske (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) also turned in a strong time by clocking in at 25:00.8 to place 145th overall. She clipped 51 seconds off her PAC Championship time and 40 seconds off her previous season-low time.
In her final meet for Bethany, senior Alissa Moss (Meadow Lands, Pa./Chartiers-Houston) continued her late season surge by turning in a time of 26:15.7. It was more than 70 seconds better than the time she had at the conference meet and she has erased more than two minutes and 10 seconds over the last two meets.
Rounding out the Bethany competitors Saturday was freshman Emily Andrews (Absecon, N.J./Holy Spirit) in 236th place.
Both Bison men finished their season Saturday as well with senior Patrick Miller (Canonsburg, Pa./Chartiers-Houston) and freshman Josh Wentz (Philippi, W.Va./Philip Barbour) finishing 268th and 284th, respectively.
