Bethany Women Runners Picked Seventh in PAC

Aug. 25 - GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Bethany College women’s cross country team was forecast to place seventh this season according to the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Preseason Poll was released by the conference office.

Last season saw the Bison claim sixth place at the conference championship meet. This year, BC picked up 44 points to place in front of Thiel (29), Chatham (22) and Thomas More (12). Grove City, who won its 25th straight league crown last year and earned fifth at the NCAA Mideast Regional, swept all 10 first place votes and secured 100 total points to earn the top spot in the poll.

Coming in behind Grove City was Waynesburg (85.5), Geneva (77.5), Westminster (71), Washington & Jefferson (57) and Saint Vincent (54) ahead of Bethany.

The Bison will begin the 2012 season on the trails at the Seton Hill Invitational. Bethany will also host a pair of meets this year, including the Bethany Bison Invitational Sept. 29th and the 2012 PAC Championships will be held on campus for the first time since 2004. The conference meet will be Saturday, Oct. 27th.
