Bethany's Castro Named PAC Runner of the Week

Sept. 8 - GREENVILLE, Pa. - Bethany College freshman Jordan Castro was named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Runner of the Week, announced the PAC on Tuesday. The award marked the first of Castro’s career.

In his first race for the Bison, Castro (Wahiawa, Hawaii/Leilehua) turned in his best performance to date at the Doug Watts Gala at Edinboro University. Castro finished in 26:48.7, which was good for 17th place overall.

With the time, Castro was the first Division III performer to cross the finish line in the meet. The freshman also posted the fastest time of any runner in the conference.

The Hawaii native was the first Bethany runner to win the award since Ryan Donnelly (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) in 2013.

Castro and the Bison will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 12 as they host the Bethany College Invitational. The meet is scheduled for a 10:30 a.m. start.
