Bison Cross Country Competes in Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble

Oct. 18 – OBERLIN, Ohio – The Bethany College men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble on Saturday afternoon.  The women’s squad finished 30th, while the men also competed.

The women were led by seniors Jessica Olson (Moon, Pa./Moon) and Rhianna Petrone (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan). Olson had the team’s best time, registering a 24:57.7, while Petrone also did well, finishing with a time of 25:01.7. Sophomore Michaela Ross (Wahiawa, Hawaii/Leilehua ) also had a nice showing, notching a time of 26:04.2.

The top finishers for the men included freshmen Donald Bierhals (Cabot, Pa./Knoch) and Austin Davis (Honolulu, Hawaii/Moanalua), as well as sophomore Dylan Martinez (Wahiawa, Hawaii/Leilehua ). Bierhals turned in the best Bison time of the day, logging a 31:06.5. Davis didn’t finish too far behind his fellow Bison, recording a 31:38.1. Martinez rounded out the top-three Bison runners, crossing the finish line with a 32:20.1.

The Bethany squad will be back on the course on Saturday, Oct. 25 as they take part in the Lock Haven Invitational. Festivities begin at 11:00 a.m.
