September, 9 – Greenville, Pa. – Bethany College sophomore cross country runner, Ryan Donnelly, has been named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference men’s cross country Runner of the Week, announced the conference office on Monday evening.
Donnelly gets the nod for his performance on Saturday when the Bison hosted the Bethany Invitational. Helping Bethany to a second place finish, Donnelly took home the individual title, crossing the finish line in 28:06.1, seven seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
“We are really proud of what Ryan has been able to accomplish already this season,” said third-year head coach, Michael Guinn. “He has been a leader for us all season so far and if he continues to improve upon this past race, he will have a very solid year and be very competitive at the conference championship.”
Donnelly becomes the first Bison of the young, 2013-14, campaign to win a conference player of the week award in any sport. He and the rest of the Bison will be back in action on Saturday, September 14 when the team travels to Philippi, West Virginia. to compete in the Seaton Invitational hosted by Alderson-Broaddus University
