Bethany Field Hockey Falls to Ohio Wesleyan 3-0

Sept. 11 – BETHANY, W. Va. – The Bethany College field hockey team fell to Ohio Wesleyan University 3-0 on Friday night.

Ohio Wesleyan put the pressure on the Bison defense early in the game, netting goals in the 9th and 12th minute to make it 2-0.

The Battling Bishops continued their offensive attack and expanded their lead after Alexis Roberts scored on a pass from Montana Knapp in the 25th minute. The score remained 3-0 at the intermission.

Bethany College was able to put together a couple opportunities in the second half. However, the Bison failed to capitalize and tally a score.

The defense was able to contain the Ohio Wesleyan offense in the second half, not allowing the Bishops to score for the remainder of the game.

Bison goaltender Courtney Snyder (Bristol, Pa./Bristol) played all 70 minutes, recording 9 saves on 17 Bishop shots. The Bethany defense recorded three defensive saves as well.

Senior T.J. Solomon (Beltsville, Md./Elizabeth Seton) totaled two shots and junior Lauren Rao (North Tonawanda, N.Y./Sweet Home) added one for the Bison offense.

Bethany will return to the field on Saturday, September 12 when they take on Roanoke College at 1:00 p.m. at Bison Stadium.
