Sept. 1- BETHANY, W.Va- The Bethany College Field Hockey Team (0-1) lost, 5-0, to the College of Wooster (1-1) in a non-conference game on Sunday afternoon at Bison Stadium.
Meredith Farley picked up her first victory of the season for the Fighting Scots.
Sophomore Jacqueline Harrison (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) was great in goal for the Bison in the defeat as she turned away 12 shots.
Kayla O'Connor scored the game’s first goal for Wooster at the 11:18 mark, as she put a shot on goal which went through a number of Bison defenders and into the net.
Josie Rey gave the Scots a 2-0 led at 19:45 of the opening period. She received a pass off a penalty corner and fired a shot on net, which went past the defense and found the goal.
Bethany’s best scoring chance of the game came at 32:50 when sophomore Kaitlin Perch (Hackettstown, N.J./Hackettstown) fired a shot on the net only to have it ring hit the post.
Wooster would add two more goals to take a 4-0 led into the halftime break.
The Fighting Scots would add one additional goal in the second half and would go on for the 5-0 victory.
Bethany returns to action on Sept. 7 when they host Wittenberg at 1:00 p.m.
