Oct. 14 – WOOSTER, Ohio – Despite a two-goal effort from sophomore Latisha Cuffee (Virginia Beach, Va./Green Run), the Bethany College field hockey squad suffered a 4-2 loss at the College of Wooster on Wednesday evening.
The hosts got the action started, as they took an early 2-0 lead on goals in the 13th and 15th minutes of action.
Bethany would cut the lead in half (2-1) just four minutes later, as Cuffee found the back of the net.
The score would then remain the same heading into intermission.
The second half saw the Bison come out focused, tying the game at 2-2 on Cuffee’s second goal of the game in the 36th minute.
Wooster would respond, however, as Angela Galimberti found the net, giving the Fighting Scots a 3-2 advantage with just 15 minutes to play.
The Fighting Scots would then add another goal en route to downing the Bison, 4-2.
Offensivlye, Bethany was led by Cuffee and junior Taylor Solomon (Beltsville, Md./Elizabeth Seton). Cuffee scored the two Bison goals, while Solomon tallied two shots.
Junior goalkeeper Courtney Snyder (Bristol, Pa./Bristol) played all 70 minutes at net, snagging 12 saves on 23 Wooster shots.
Bethany will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 25, as they host Transylvania University. Game time is slated for 2:00 p.m.
