Bison Field Hockey Drops Contest at Ohio Wesleyan

Oct. 5 – DELAWARE, Ohio – The Bethany College field hockey team suffered a 2-0 decision at Ohio Wesleyan on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts controlled the first half, entering halftime with 1-0 lead over the Bison.

The Battling Bishops would then add to their lead in the second half, scoring a goal in the 60th minute to down the Bison, 2-0.

Bethany had several chances, as they registered 12 penalty corners and 15 shots, but were unable to take advantage. 

Offensively, the Bison were led by junior Taylor Solomon (Beltsville, Md./Elizabeth Seton) and freshman Erin Cunningham (Fredericksburg, Va./James Monroe). Solomon tallied a team-high five shots, while Cunningham recorded three.

Junior goalkeeper Courtney Snyder (Bristol, Pa./Bristol) played well in net, logging three saves on 18 Ohio Wesleyan shots.

The Bison will get back in action on Sunday, Oct. 12 as they travel to Neumann College for a 2:00 p.m. battle.
