Bison Field Hockey Falls to Centre

Sept. 22 - BETHANY, W.Va. –Centre (Ky.) College scored five times in each half and went on to a 10-0 victory over the Bethany College women’s field hockey team Saturday afternoon at Bison Stadium.

The Bison (1-5) were trying to make it two wins in a row after a 2-1 overtime victory over Transylvania on Sept. 9th. But the Colonels (2-4) jumped out to a quick lead with a goal 4:52 into the game and would add on four more before the end of the first half. Four more goals in less than eight minutes in the second half clinched the victory for the visitors.

Bethany managed to get off five shots from five different players. On the defensive side, freshman goalie Jacqueline Harrison (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) stopped 12 shots and junior Ashlee Needy (Chicago, Ill./Marist) made four defensive stops as well.

The Bison will be right back in action on Sunday when they travel to Kenyon (Ohio) College. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
