Oct. 7- BETHANY, W.Va.- The Bethany College field hockey team fell, 6-0, to Frostburg State on Monday evening at Bison Stadium.
The game was originally scheduled for last Thursday (Oct. 3), but had to be moved to tonight (Oct. 7) due to inclement weather.
Bethany totaled seven shots for the game, which was the second most shots in a single game for the Bison this season.
Sophomore goalkeeper Jacqueline Harrison (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) put forth a solid effort, as she recorded 12 saves, which was the second most saves in a game this season at Bison Stadium.
Megan Grimm picked up her fifth win of the season for the Bobcats, as she recorded four saves on the evening.
The Bison got off to a really quick start, as freshmen Latisha Cuffee (Virginia Beach, Va./ Green Run) took the ball right off the faceoff and ran past a few defenders and fired a shot on net, but Grimm made a great save to keep the game scoreless.
The Bobcats got on the board at the 25:54 mark, as Becky Randel passed the ball to Alexandra Darrow, and Darrow shot the ball into the goal.
Less than a minute later, Eleanor Vials managed to get to the ball after Harrison made the save, and Vials shot the ball into the empty net to give the Bobcats a 2-0 lead, which was the score at the halftime break.
Frostburg State added four goals in the second half and would go on for the 6-0 victory.
Bethany returns to action on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 12) when they host Neumann at 2:00 p.m. at Bison Stadium.
