Amic Named to Team of the Week

Oct. 14 - BETHANY, W. Va. - Bethany College football punter, senior Stephen Amic (McDonald, Pa./West Allegheny) has been named to the National Team of the Week presented by Scoutware, announced on Tuesday.

Amic helped the Bison control the field position battle in a 19-7 victory over Carneige Mellon last week. The senior, Pre-Season All-American, finished the game with five punts, averaging 45.4 yards per attempt. He totaled 227 yards in the game, including a career-long, 68-yard punt in the contest. Not only did he average a strong distance in the game, but he also kept Carneige Mellon from returning the punts, as the Tartans finished the game with -5 punt-return yards.

So far this year, Amic leads the Presidents' Athletic Conference in total punting yards (1,869) and also leads the PAC in yards per punt average (40.6). If he stays on pace, those numbers will be career highs for the two-time all-conference performer.

Amic becomes the first Bison to earn Team of the Week honors this season. He also becomes the first Bison to be named as a member of the National Team of the Week since Eric Blinn (Beaver, Pa./Western Beaver) earned the distinction in the final week of the season in 2013.
