Jan. 16 - JACKSON, Miss. – Bethany College football standout, senior punter Stephen Amic (McDonald, Pa./West Allegheny) is set to participate in the 21st annual USA Football Bowl. Candidates for the bowl were selected from the USA College Football, Inc. All-American Teams, which were released earlier in the year.
All seniors with no remaining eligibility who were named to the USA College Football, Inc. All-American Teams were given the option of participating in the five-day event from January 16 to January 20.
Amic, who was named a Third-Team Preseason All-American by USA Football, Inc. earned First-Team All-American status by the same organization following the 2014 campaign. He also earned First-Team All Presidents’ Athletic Conference selection as well as a First-Team All-Division III South Region selection by the Eastern College Athletic Conference.
In 2014, Amic was the top punter in the PAC, averaging a career-best 40.4 yards per punt. He totaled 12 punts of over 50 yards on the year which marked the same amount that he had posted in his previous three years, combined. He also placed a career-best 21 punts inside the opponents’ 20-yard line, which also led the conference.
