BETHANY, W.Va. – Current Bethany College Controller Susan Halulko has been appointed Bethany’s chief financial officer (CFO). Halulko has been at Bethany since 2019 when she started as the financial reporting manager, and she has over three decades of financial services experience to leverage into this position.

“Sue has been an instrumental and key player on our team here at Bethany College for the past several years,” says Bethany President Dr. Jamie Caridi. “Bethany is in a pivotal moment and poised for growth. We are forward-thinking and pushing ourselves into a better tomorrow in accordance with our three-year strategic plan. Sue’s fiscal management and leadership roles in higher education are critically needed to propel our vision and prepare us for an even more innovative future at Bethany College.”

Before coming to Bethany College, Halulko was an accountant for Washington Presbytery for 16 years. As an accountant, she developed and implemented record-keeping and accounting systems, was responsible for all accounting and bookkeeping functions of Presbytery, analyzed and reported the fiscal activity to identify cost reductions and more. Her keen eye for detail and work ethic will be key as she transitions into the CFO position.

“I’m honored and excited to take on my new role as CFO,” says Halulko. “Bethany is a special place and I look forward to working with President Caridi and the other members of the leadership team to help the college grow into its very bright future. “

Since 2012, Halulko has also been an accountant for Peters Creek UPC, where she is responsible for all accounting and bookkeeping functions of the church and prepares monthly reporting for church leaders. Halulko also has prior experience in higher education at institutions including Carlow and Washington & Jefferson colleges.

Halulko attended Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pa., where she graduated with a B.S. in business administration and accounting. She has been married to her husband, Dan, for 26 years and has three children Sam, Jack, and Genevieve.
