MAY 14 – BETHANY, W. Va. – The Bethany College football team has released its 2015 schedule, in which the Bison will compete against the same ten programs that it saw from a 6-4 regular season one year ago.
As part of a home-and-home agreement, the Bison will open the 2015 campaign with National finalist, the University of Mount Union on Saturday, September 5 at 1:30 p.m. The contest will mark the Bison’s first trip to Alliance, Ohio since the 1964 season.
Following the game with the Purple Raiders, the Bison will return to Bison Stadium for a pair of contests on September 12 and September 19. Bethany will first take on Thiel College in what will be treated as a non-conference contest. The game with the Tomcats will also be the first of three night games on the schedule (7 p.m.). The Bison will then open conference play against Westminster College at 1 p.m. on the 19th.
In week four, the Green & White will head to Waynesburg, Pa. for a bout with the Yellow Jackets on September 26 at 1:30 p.m.
Homecoming weekend for the Bison will be held on Saturday, October 3, as Bethany will welcome Case Western Reserve University to Bison Stadium for the first time since the 1982 season. Bethany will then take on the other second-year conference member, Carnegie Mellon, the following week, traveling to Pittsburgh, Pa. for a bout with the Tartans at 6:00 p.m. on October 10.
Last season, the first six games of the year were good to the Bison, as Bethany opened the 2014 campaign with a 5-1 record.
The third and final night game of the season will take place on October 17, when the Bison travel to two-time defending conference champion, Washington & Jefferson. The contest will take place at 7:00 p.m.
Bethany will then return home for their last two home games of the season. The first will be on October 24 against Geneva at 1:00 p.m. The Bison will then celebrate senior day with a Halloween matchup against Grove City College. That game will take place at 1:30 p.m. on October 31.
Following a late-season bye week on November 7, the Bison will travel to Latrobe, Pa. for their final regular season contest of the year. Bethany will compete against the Bearcats of Saint Vincent College in a game slated for a 1 p.m. start.
Looking to carry momentum from the program’s first ever Eastern College Athletic Conference Bowl berth, the Bison will look to build off a 6-5 record in 2014.
