Aug. 2 - LATROBE, Pa. – Coming off back-to-back 5-5 seasons and with 20 starters returning, the Bethany College football team was predicted to finish fourth this year in the preseason poll released Thursday at the 2012 PAC Football Media Day held at Saint Vincent College.
Voters in the poll included conference head coaches, sports information directors and members of the media present at the conference media day.
This marks the second consecutive year the Bison were tabbed for fourth, as BC and Grove City tied for that spot in last year’s preseason poll. This year, Bethany garnered 117 points to finish behind only four-time defending champion Thomas More, who had 223 points and 23 first place votes, Washington & Jefferson (188) and Waynesburg (165, two first place votes.
With their point total, the Bison just edged out Saint Vincent (114), Geneva (105) and Westminster (101). Rounding out this year’s ballot was Grove City with 79 points and Thiel with 32.

College, who was 9-2 and made the second round of the NCAA playoffs last year. The conference slate begins Sept. 22 with a road game at Grove City.
