Dec. 10 – MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Bethany College sophomore wideout Eric Blinn (Beaver, Pa./Western Beaver) has been named a D3football.com All-South Region Third Team selection announced D3football.com on Monday.
Blinn had a season for the record books for the Bison, as he finished his sophomore campaign with school records in receptions (95) and receiving yards (1,300). Named a First-Team All-Presidents’ Athletic Conference selection, Blinn also set single game school records in receptions (16 on Sept. 14 against Geneva) and touchdown receptions (four on Nov. 16 at Saint Vincent).
Over the course of the season, Blinn recorded 10+ receptions in six games and caught at least nine balls in all but two. He also broke 100 yards receiving seven times on the season.
On the national scale, Blinn finished the 2013 campaign ranked second in all of Division III in receptions per game (9.5) and third in receiving yards per contest (130.0).
“Eric is a tremendous player that can take over a game,” remarked head coach Bill Garvey. “He had a great year and with his great competitive attitude, we all can expect great things in the next two years of his career. We are very fortunate to have a player of his caliber.”
A social work major, Blinn is the son of Howard and Leigh Blinn of Beaver, Pa.
