Feb. 17 – GREENVILLE, Pa. – Bethany College junior men’s basketball standout Delonte’ Joyce (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) has been tabbed as the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, announced the conference office on Monday.
Joyce notched his career-best scoring output with a game-high 31 points in Saturday’s 86-65 win at Saint Vincent. He finished the game 12-of-20 (60%) from the field and went a perfect 7-of-7 from the charity stripe while also adding five rebounds, five assists, four steals and a block in Bethany’s sixth-straight league victory. The victory over the Bearcats snapped Saint Vincent’s 19-game winning streak against PAC opponents on their home floor.
Currently on the year, Joyce ranks second in the conference and third in all of Division-III in steals per contest, averaging 3.23 per game. He also ranks fourth in the PAC in points per game, averaging a team-best 16.8 points. His second 30-point performance of the season makes him the only player in the conference to have accomplished the feat twice this year.
Joyce and the Bison, who have won six-straight contests and eight of their last nine, have pulled into a tie for first place in the conference standings with just two games to go. Bethany will be back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 19, when it plays host to Thomas More College. The game is set for 8 p.m.
