Dec. 18 - ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Bison men’s basketball team (8-0) registered their eight consecutive victory as Bethany picked up an impressive 79-52 road victory over St. John Fisher on Wednesday.
The Cardinals struck first with a layup by Stefan Bock. However, the Bison would respond, taking the lead on a three-point basket by Leslie Addy (Columbia, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) and would never look back.
The Bison would go on a 10-3 run over the next five minutes, capped off by a Tyrone Smothers (Baltimore, Md./Mergenthaler) three-point basket, to put the visitors up eight points (13-5) with 15:59 to go.
The Cardinals would get as close as three points (19-16) with 11:08 remaining, but the Bison would answer with an 11-2 run. The run was finished by a Lawrence Weldon (Baltimore, Md./Poly) bucket, which extended the lead to 30-18 at the 7:32 mark.
Bethany proceeded to end the first half outscoring the hosts 12-6, en route to a 42-24 halftime advantage.

Defensively, Bethany limited St. John Fisher to 30 percent shooting for the game and forced the Cardinals into 19 turnovers.
Bethany was able to have yet another balanced night, getting double digits from five different players. The barrage was led by Kevin Jackson’s (Baltimore, Md./Walbrook) 20-point outburst. He shot 9-of-14 from the field and added six rebounds, four blocks and three assists.
Joining Jackson in double figures was Ramel Young (Walterboro, S.C./Estill), who scored 12 points and added three rebounds. Smothers and Weldon both chipped in 10 points, while Darrian Bruster (Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland Central Catholic) added 10 points and five boards.
