April 17 - OBERLIN, Ohio – Oberlin took an 8-0 lead at halftime and kept the Bethany College men’s lacrosse team at bay in the second half, as the Bison went down to a 13-3 defeat Tuesday afternoon.

The Yeomen (4-8) scored five times in the first quarter and added three more in the second to construct the 8-0 lead by intermission. The Bison (1-10) picked up their first goal just 19 seconds into the second half when freshman Trey Moore (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Scioto) notched an unassisted score.

Oberlin answered that goal with three straight to swell their cushion to 11-2. Over the final nine minutes of the fourth quarter, both teams scored two goals each. The BC tallies were registered by junior Zach Gordon (Leesburg, Va./Heritage) with 8:45 to play and Moore netted his second on an assist from junior Christian Simon (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview). It was Moore’s 11th goal of the season to tie for the team lead.

Bethany was outshot 47-8, but Bison sophomore keeper C.J. Studnicky (Severna Park, Md.) turned aside 16 attempts. He also scooped five ground balls to tie sophomore Corey Donesky (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) for the team-high in the game.

The Bison will close out their regular season home schedule Saturday afternoon by hosting Saint Vincent at 1 p.m.
