May 1 - LATROBE, Pa. - The Bison lacrosse team saw their quest for a Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship come to an end as the fell 13-2 to St. Vincent College on Thursday.
The Bearcats jumped out of the gate quickly, scoring six unanswered goals over the first period and a half to run out to a 6-0 lead midway through the second period. At the 10:44 mark of the second period, the Bison got their first goal of the game as Tim Pagano (Erie, Pa./Fort LeBoeuf) found the back of the net off a pass from Travis Granich (Huntington, W. Va./Huntington) to cut the deficit to 6-1. Two minutes later, Brendan Wessells (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) ripped the cords to inch the Bison closer at 6-2.
Unfortunately, the rest of the contest was controlled by the Bearcats who went on to score seven more unanswered goals to hand Bethany the defeat.
The Bison were led in the contest by Pagano, Wessells, Granich and Grant Delaney (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) who all notched one point. Pagano and Wessells each tallied a goal, while Granich and Delaney finished with an assist, each.
