Bison Lacrosse Falls to Thiel

April 4- BETHANY, W.Va. - The Bethany lacrosse team dropped a 15-1 decision to visiting Thiel College on Friday evening.

The Bison jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on Jake Holland's (Canton, Ohio/Jackson) 17th goal of the season, just two minutes into the contest. Two minutes later, Thiel would respond with a goal from Tim O'Shea, which tied the game at 1-1.

Over the rest of the half, the Tomcats would go on a six-goal run, receiving two goals from Carmen Papa, and the Bison found themselves down 7-1 at the half.

In the second half, the Tomcats would add eight more unanswered goals and the Bison would fall in the contest between Presidents' Athletic Conference opponents.

Defensively, the Bison were led by Aaron Bynum (Prince Frederick, Md./Calvert) who set a Bethany school record with six caused turnovers on the day. The previous high was four, set by David Zorn on March 15 against Hope College last season.

The Bison will be back in action on Wednesday, April 9, when they play host to the Bearcats of St. Vincent College. The contest is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
