April 28 - WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Bethany College men’s lacrosse team second varsity season came to an end Saturday afternoon with a loss at Otterbein (Ohio) University.
The Cardinals (8-6) scored nine times in the first quarter and didn’t look back in recording a 24-0 triumph over the Bison (1-12). Twelve different players scored for Otterbein, who finished the game with a 42-8 advantage in shots.
Bethany completed the game with 25 ground balls. Sophomore Eric Sowinski (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton-LaSalle) scooped a team-leading five and freshman Trey Moore (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Scioto) had four in the game as well. Sowinski finished second on the team with 48 ground balls this season and Moore, who led BC with 12 goals this season, ranked third on the squad with 35 ground balls.
In goal, sophomore C.J. Studnicky (Severna Park, Md.) completed the year with 175 saves after making four in the game against Otterbein.
