Bison Lacrosse Unable To Capture Road Win

March 22 - BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Bethany College Lacrosse squad stumbled on the road against Bridgewater College on Saturday afternoon, as they fell by a score of 19-4.

The first period saw the Eagles race out to a 4-0 advantage, receiving a goal from four different Bridgewater players.

The second half saw the Eagles extend their lead to seven goals (7-0), before Grant Delaney (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) found Tim Pagano (Erie, Pa./Fort Leboeuf) at the 4:24 mark to cut the deficit to six (7-1).

Bridgewater would then close out the last four minutes scoring four more goals, to enter intermission with an 11-1 lead.

The Bison would strike first in the third period, receiving a goal from Jake Holland (Canton, Ohio/Jackson) to bring the score to 11-2 with 12:20 remaining to play.

The Eagles would then tack on four unanswered goals, to take a 15-2 advantage into the final period of play.

After Bridgewater extended their lead to 18-2, the Bison would receive goals from Holland and Travis Granich (Huntington, W.Va./Huntington) over the next eight minutes to bring the count to 18-4.

That would be as close as Bethany would get, however, as Bridgewater would add one more goal en route to a 19-4 win.

Offensively Holland, Pagano and Granich led the Bison. Holland tallied a team-high two goals, while Pagano and Granich also tallied a goal apiece. Delaney also played well, notching two assists and one ground ball.
