James Named First Team All-Great Lakes Region

Dec. 9 – KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Bethany College men’s soccer standout Arkangelo James (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) has been named a 2013 National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire NCAA Division III All-Great Lakes Region First-Team selection, announced the NSCAA on Monday.

Arkangelo_James_action_2.jpgJames, who was awarded with Presidents’ Athletic Conference Player of the Year honors for the second straight season, led the PAC in all major offensive categories. James tied his career-high in goals for the third time in his career, finishing with a PAC leading 18. He also led all players in the conference in assists (eight) and total points with 44. His 44 points marked a career-high.

This marks the fourth straight season that James has been named to the Great Lakes All-Region team. He was given Second Team All-Great Lakes honors as a freshman and earned Third Team laurels in both his sophomore and junior campaigns. This marks the initial First-Team All-Region honor for James in his illustrious career.

“We are all extremely proud of Arkangleo’s accomplishments,” remarked head coach Sean Regan. “He is an extremely special player who thoroughly deserves every accolade that he has received.”

James finished his stellar career tied for second in school history with 66 career goals and third with 156 points.

A physical education major, Arkangelo is the son of Parina & Massimo James of Pittsburgh, Pa.
