Sept. 16- GREENVILLE, Pa.- Bethany College Senior forward Arkangelo James (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) was named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference men’s soccer Offensive Player of the Week announced the conference office on Monday.
James scored four goals and added three assists for a total of 11 points as the Bison posted victories over Penn State – New Kensington (7-0) and Pitt-Greensburg (3-2) last week.
In the contest against Penn State – New Kensington, James notched two goals on just two shots. He also assisted on two scores, to give him six points in the contest. Against Pitt-Greensburg, James was at it again, as he netted two goals and an assist. He also notched the game-winner in overtime, as he connected in the 97th minute to give Bethany the 3-2 win.
A three-time First-Team All-PAC selection and last season’s PAC Player of the Year, James has continued his offensive prowess, as he ranks first in the conference in goals (9), assists (5) and points (23). He also ranks in the top-ten in the country in total goals.
James continues to climb the ranks and cement his name among the career leaders at Bethany. James ranks fourth with 57 career goals (four behind third place Sandy Mick) and is fourth with 135 career points (13 behind third Mick).
Bethany returns to action Wednesday, September 18, when they host Marietta for a non-conference game at 8:00 p.m. at Bison Stadium.
