Oct. 7 – GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Bethany College men’s swimming & diving team was selected fifth while the women’s team was picked sixth in the 2015 Presidents’ Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches’ polls, announced the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bison men, who finished with a fifth-place performance at the PAC Championships one year ago, totaled 11 points for their selection. Westminster College was selected as the overall favorite with 33 points after a first-place finish last season. Westminster pulled in four first-place votes. Grove City was picked as the runner up with the other two first-place votes and 29 points.
On the women’s side, the Bison are coming off a sixth place finish with 184 points in the PAC Championships. The Bison were chosen to finish sixth in the Preseason Coaches’ Poll. Grove City was picked as the favorites, collecting two first-place votes and 31 points. Westminster was selected second as they finished with three first-place votes and 30 points. Saint Vincent College tallied the other first-place vote.
Along with the coaches’ poll, a list of swimmers/divers to watch this season was compiled. For the Bison men, freshman Cheyne Stresky (Oxford, Mich./Oxford) was selected as a swimmer to watch. Freshman Mia Judalang (Cupertino, Calif./Monta Vista) made the women’s list as a diver to watch in 2015.
Both the men and women will open their 2015 campaign on Thursday, October 8 when they compete in the West Virginia Games at West Virginia University at 7:30 p.m.
