What: Swimming lessons taught by members of Bethany College’s Swimming Team and supervised by Head Coach Michael Viscardi. Students of all abilities age 6 and older are welcome. Class size is limited to 8 students per instructor (pre-registration is strongly encouraged).
Where: Bethany’s John J. Knight Natatorium at Thomas Phillips Johnson Health & Recreation Center
When: Three consecutive Saturdays - April 23, 30, and May 7. Three levels to choose from.
Tryouts – April 23 - 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. -This session will be free of charge and is specifically meant for lessons placement. All athletes must go through this process so we can better evaluate aptitude prior to lessons.
Beginners – 8 a.m. - 10 a.m. - Great for new and inexperienced swimmers! The focus is on freestyle,
backstroke, and water safety.
Intermediate – 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. - For those who can swim – Will focus on stroke specific swims:
freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, and breaststroke.
Advanced – 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. - Seasoned swimmers proficient in all four strokes – We will work on
intermedley swimming, and aerobic capacity.
Cost: $60 for the session, due on first day of lessons. Cash or checks payable to Bethany Swim.
