March 22 - MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Bison track program finished the third and final day of the Shamrock Invitational hosted by Coastal Carolina University on Saturday.
On the men's side, the Bison were led by Andre Butler ( Poolsville, Md./ Poolsville). Butler notched a top-five finish in the 200 meter dash. Competing against runners from all divisions, Butler notched a fifth-place finish, crossing the line with a time of 23.33.
Umar Moore (Coraopolis, Pa./Moon), Ryan Donnelly (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) and Kyle Minger (Richmond, Ohio/ Edison Local) also competed during the day. Moore finished the triple jump with a distance of 45' 5 3/4", notching 14th place out of 30. Donnelly notched a 20th-place finish in the 3,000 meter run, finishing with a time of 9:22.08, while Minger finished 28th in the 400 meter dash (50.19).
On the women's side, Paige Prato (Gibsonia, Pa./Deer Lakes), Kiera Goolsby (Washington, Pa./Washington) and Lauren Rao (North Tonawanda, N.Y/Sweet Home) all competed in the 200 meter dash. Prato finished 15th (27.06) while Goolsby (27.41) and Rao (27.59) finished 19th and 23rd, respectively.
Jess Olson (Moon, Pa./Moon) and Brooke Bosworth (St. Clairsville, Ohio/St. Clairsville) each competed in the 3,000 meter run. Olson finished 31st (11:42.01) while Bosworth finished right behind in 32nd (12:01.61).
The Bison will be back in action on March 29 when they compete at the West Virginia Wesleyan Invitational.
