A week after winning two events at the Washington & Jefferson Invitational, junior Jodi Bodo (Steubenville, Ohio/Steubenville Catholic Central) repeated her efforts at Slippery Rock. In the 400, she cruised to first place with a time of 1:00.30, better than three seconds faster than the runner-up. Bodo also anchored the 4x400 relay, teaming with sophomores Stacy and Kelly Goode (Pleasant Plain, Ohio/Little Miami) and freshman Kaitlyn Black (Pittsburgh, Pa./Chartiers Valley), to a first place finish in 4:10.64.

In addition, Bodo, who also took sixth in the 200 with her fastest time of the year (26.54), ran with freshman Connie Woods (Alexandria, Va./T.C. Williams), Black and senior Rachael Katsur (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills) in the 4x100 relay to take fourth with a season-best time of 51.43.

The Bison also posted numerous top-five efforts in the field events, led by freshman Cassondra Allen (Washington, Pa./Canon-McMillan), who was third in the high jump (4-10) and fifth in the long jump (14-9). Woods, who was right behind Allen in sixth place in the long jump, grabbed second in the triple with a measurement of 33-0.

The men’s team’s top performance was registered by sophomore Clint Wilson (Moundsville, W.Va./Bishop Donahue) in the high jump. By matching his season-best height of 6-2, he placed third overall at the meet. Wilson also anchored BC’s 4x100 relay, which featured sophomore Daniel Farray (Queens, N.Y./Msgr. McClancy), freshman Josh Ringer (Prosperity, Pa./McGuffey) and junior Grant Walters (Lower Burrell, Pa./Burrell), to a fourth place showing (45.56).
