Dec. 8 – GREENVILLE, Pa. – Bethany College track standout, junior Kyle Minger (Richmond, Ohio/Edison Local) has been named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Men’s Track Athlete of the Week announced the conference office Monday.
Minger earned the first Track Athlete of the Week of the 2014-15 season as he defeated all participants in the 400 meter run at the YSU Icebreaker Meet on Saturday. Minger took on athletes from all Divisions, posting a time of 49.22 to take first place in a field of 35 competitors.
The 2014 PAC Indoor 400 champion, Minger placed first in six of his 11 runs in the 400 a year ago. His fastest time a year ago was a 48.82 which he ran at the Gator Invitational hosted by Allegheny College. With his performance in his first race of the year, Minger is just .4 seconds behind his top time.
Minger and the Bison track & field teams will be back in action on January 17 as they will compete in the Al Hall Freedom Games hosted by Edinboro University.
